Life Lately
A very belated check in - What I've been up to this summer!!
Oh my gosh, you guys. It has been so long since I’ve written a Life Lately post. I’m sorry! I seriously can’t wait to get back into writing. I’ve been pouring myself into a lot of other areas, and sitting down to write got pushed to the bottom of the list 😭 I am, however, actively working on finding a better balance. Just putting that out there makes me feel better already!!
Truthfully, life has been completely insane. In the best possible way. But I would be lying if I said I wasn’t completely exhausted.
I actually took this week off just to recharge. I forced myself to stay home and not go into the office because I really needed a break. We’ve been hosting Brian’s family, which has been so nice, and work has been off my brain. That has felt really, really good. I finally feel like I’m sitting down with a cup of coffee, ready to catch up with you guys.
So... life lately.
Where do I even begin?
Brian graduated from seventh grade, Grace graduated from fifth grade, and William graduated from kindergarten and is officially heading into first grade.
The end of the school year always gets me. Watching Grace graduate from the elementary school she’s been at since kindergarten, through COVID and through all of those little milestones that somehow don’t feel so little anymore, was so bittersweet. I’m so excited for her, but moments like that make you realize just how fast time is moving. I know everyone says it, but it really does feel like you blink and suddenly they’re onto the next chapter.
And sweet little William. Oh my gosh. There is just something about him. He has a sparkle in his eye, you know? I look at him and turn into a puddle. He is the funniest, sweetest little guy, and I cannot believe he’s already done with kindergarten.
And then Brian. Guys, he turned 13. I officially have a teenager in the house, and he’s taller than me. How is this even possible? I just brought him home from the hospital.
A BLINK.
Summer has been full speed ahead around here. We belong to a yacht club nearby, so the kids bop between there and our neighborhood all summer long. Grace plays tennis, William swims and plays tennis, and Brian spends his afternoons sailing and playing tennis.

B also plays club lacrosse, which meant that up until this past weekend, Brian and Brian were traveling almost every single weekend to tournaments in different states. I could write an entire post about my complicated feelings on club sports. Please don’t come for me if you love them because I absolutely see the positives. There are so many. But I also think there are parts of it that have become... a lot. That’s a conversation for another day.
All I know is that this was one of the first weekends we’ve actually had together as a family all summer, and I didn’t realize how much I had missed that.
Shortly after school ended, we hosted our big creator event in Nantucket for Marea, and it was honestly one of the highlights of the year. I’ll share more about it in another post because it deserves one all on its own, but it was everything I hoped it would be. It honestly felt like planning a mini wedding. Seeing so many women we genuinely love and admire come together to celebrate the brand was incredibly special, and I’m just so proud of my team. It was one of those moments where you step back and think, wow... we built this.

From there, we rolled right into interviewing for a big hire, sample sale prep, the warehouse sale, Brian and Grace’s birthdays... it has just felt nonstop. In the best way, but definitely nonstop.
Which brings me to why I guess I disappeared from your inbox for a little while.
I took this week off. Not to travel. Not to tackle a million house projects. Literally just to home and breathe. Fill my cup in the homey and family ways. I was actually able to shut my brain off from work for the most part which was such a gift. Somewhere between the end of school, Nantucket, birthdays, work, and trying to keep all the balls in the air, I realized I was running on empty.
I learned a lot this week about what I need in this season of life, and I have a feeling I’m not the only one who feels this way.
So I’m going to share more about that in my next post. ❤️
Thanks for reading, chat soon!!
